Comments Thread For: Abel Sanchez Confident He Can Help Felix Verdejo Reach Potential

As BoxingScene.com recently reported, Puerto Rican lightweight star Felix Verdejo (23-0, 15 KOs) would train with veteran coach Abel Sanchez in Big Bear, California. After a few lackluster performances, there has been a lot of pressure on Verdejo to train outside of Puerto Rico to avoid the countless distractions. Verdejo's manager and trainer, Ricky Marquez, approves of the move.

I think trying outside of PR will help a lot. Take him away from his friends family and the girls so he can really focus.

This kid is solid, has the fundamentals down. He just needs to find a way to add some aggression to his game. He's gotta get mean throw more combos and sharpen his right hand until it's something to be worried about. He's got some pop in his shots maybe sparring some tougher cats in big Bear will help him out not to mention his conditioning will be great

I'm looking forward for this, Verdejo is good boxer,he can be better,he moves well, throws lots of punches, good power, defense needs to improve, hopefully Mr.Sanchez can help him reach superstatus, cause Puerto ricans need a star.
