Brook made a mistake truly that instead of catching spence coming on the way in at every oppurtunity, he freezed up against the ropes then clinch which allowed Spence to work on the inside.
He doesnt let his hands go on the ropes enough to back spence of and kept freezing on that allowed spence to worj the body too many times.

That's what always have brook been doing against smaller fighters. I expect more from book seeing how their gameplan was to "Let their hands go" Spence isn't Shawn Porter and Brook didn't adapt.

Spence can't keep up with Brook's boxing prowess, so he had to break the standoff by brawling his way in to force a clinch. That's why fans were disappointed in not seeing a single 10 sec non stop exchange. It's always interrupted by Spence's bull rushing style.

Looked to me like Brooks game plan was to clinch in between punches to try and sap Spence's power . His corner could be heard in between rounds telling him to do so and saying Spence would tire down the stretch .

Brook has always been a 1-2 punch guy and holds on to negate the other guy. That can work against the Shwan Porters of this world but against Spence he found the going tough. Spence has an inside game which Brook did not enjoy one bit.

There game plan actually included clinching. You could hear Ingle say it in the corner. Errol was just throwing short compact punches on the inside and they finally paid dividends in the later rounds. I think Brook should have kept trying to counter the jab and go forward. He did his best work when he made Errol go on the back foot.
