He should take inspiration from Spence against Brook. Use that jab, work the body very consistently, and take advantage of Alvarez's questionable stamina down the stretch. Golovkin's very capable of wearing Alvarez down.

It worries me for GGG going into this fight how he has neglected body work in recent years. He needs to go downstairs early and often and never relent.

Not me been saying this how it will play out for over a year. GGG has terrible defense and is too phuking slow. Canelo will out box him easily then the excuses from GGG fans will flow the next day on these boards or a mass amount will simply disappear.

Canelo will start well then fall back to fighting on the ropes like he has done in all his fights I then see him getting carved up like Turkey by GGG do you think he is going to engage and win the exchange with GGG fighting from the ropes I dont. GGG will tee of on him like a golf ball if he duz

I think it's going to be a tough fight for both guys. Both will have their moments, etc..

A lot of questions, intangibles. I can see this fight going in a lot of different ways.

My prediction is I have no prediction.

GGG should be the favorite, he is bigger and his harder. But Canelo had that youthful energy and gets better every fight. I won't let my blood boil get, I'll save my excitement for fight week

Canelo will not have to look for him, IF he can handle the pressure he'll be ok.

I think just pumping the jab on canelo's face works well enough. Canelo will tire himself out, and simply feeding him fients and having him reach to counter the jab while golovkin stays behind his defense just poking at him will speed the process up a bit.

The body work can show up acutely when it comes to golovkin so I dont necessarily think he needs to start it that early but canelo is easy to put on the ropes so 1-2 body shots will help, just be accurate and when he hurts alvarez to capitalize on the oppurtunity to break him down further.

With canelo, he needs to turn and turn golovkin. Start fast but use only the first and maybe the second at his usual pace but then slow down to avoid blowing his load like he usually does. It will be important to focus on landing something big and being mean early, starting off running from a pressure fighter is a lame tactic that has been in use a lot as of late, you need to first assert your standing and show the opponent that you can *** him up and he better respect you.

I don't know if relying on that is the best idea. Both the early and late rounds will be very important for GGG. If I'm Canelo's camp, I'm working really hard on being conditioned for the second half and usually when these types of fighters fight at this level, they do much better than we expected in the second half (one example is Garcia-Matthysse). Plus the GGG I saw in the second half of the Jacobs fight, specifically the championship rounds, was a guy looking to score points, not someone trying to break his opponent down for a KO. He'll need to do the same here if Canelo gets a second wind, however close rounds like those won't be acceptable this time if he wants a decision.

Canelo takes a knee with a blow to his side.
