  • Comments Thread For: Nelson: Brook Should Forget Fights at 147, Only Return at 154

Backed by most of the 27,000 spectators at Bramall Lane in his Sheffield hometown, Brook met Spence on even terms in the first eight rounds. But Brook's left eye began to swell, and he was knocked down in the 10th round. With his left eye almost closed, he took a knee in the 11th and referee Howard Foster waved off the contest as Brook took the full count.

I recommend Brooke to take a quick tune up at 154, fight Khan(big stadium fight) first half of next year and Cotto(big stadium fight) in the fall. All fights at 154. Just forget 147 for now, you can still resurrect your career.

I hope his eyes can withstand the 154 guys.

Brook to short to make any real noise at 54'. He might do well against smaller LMW like Cotto but the 6' LMW out there will likely end his career.

Brook is big but not as big and thick as Canelo who was short at 54 as well.

Guys like Brook need to really be more disciplined and stay away from the buffet until retirement

Jarett Hurd (IBF), Jermell Charlo (WBC), Erislandy Lara (WBA), Demetriues Andrade (WBA), and Miguel Cotto (WBO) are the title holders, which fighter can Brook beat out of these guys?? He has a chance against Thurman and Pacquiao but none of the 154 lbers, or he can try fighting Saunders at 156 or something

Brook just needs to get away from boxing for a quick minute to collect his thoughts and decide if he still wants to do this.

Oh and he does not have chance against Thurman or the current version of Pacman!!

Have a big cash out against a khan or manny pacquaio.......i am sure as hell that a pacquaio vs brook at wembley stadium would do massive numbers and give kel a decent payday to walk away with ....a pacquaio in the uk would be a huge fight and also a decent match up of styles in my opinion.

Going up in weight won't stop him from getting punched in the face! His defense needs work! I can't imagine what Lara or Andrade would do to his eye over 12 rounds. I don't think Brook is skilled enough to beat the top guys @ 154. He might as well fight Khan and retire!

Up until r7 Brook was full of fire and winning the fight even on the Americans cards after this his snap had gone although Spence was doing nothing different.

154 for you NO less .You've been making 147 since you were 15 ........!

Brook should never consider 147 again , if he does want to put glass jaw to rest then let the part time boxer fight at 154 he said he moved up two weight divisions last time to fight (8lbs lol) let him do that again.

No, I don't think Brook is skilled enough either, to beat most of those 154 pounders. I think he'd beat Cotto, but Cotto doesn't want that fight.

Brook's work rate isn't crazy. His power at JMW wouldn't be special at all. He fights on the outside. Most of the guys are taller and have bigger reaches, so beating people from the outside is going to be really difficult. He's not that quick on his feet either, and he doesn't have extremely fast hands.

There's a reason Brook always resisted going to JMW. He knows dominating WW is much easier.
