Both guys are pretty overrated. I think Canelo (and Reyes) showed us that Fonfara's victory over Chavez was a foregone conclusion due to Julio's mediocrity rather than a defining win.

On the other hand Fonfara was supposed to be a TBA/light-touch opponent when a younger version of Stevenson first fought him and they both went down. Now a rematch with that light-touch will be maybe the biggest fight of Stevenson's terrible career.

I lean slightly towards Stevenson. The tie breaker is that Fonfara's style is fundamentally bad. He's a lanky guy who never uses his range and stalks his opponents, like a giraffe trying to Dempsey-roll a hippo.

I think this is gonna be like Kovalev-Pascal II. Everyone will hope for a competitive rematch because they remember the parts of the first fight that were competitive. Instead what we will get is a beatdown.

Stevenson is no spring chicken these days. And he was taking some flush shots against Williams in his last fight.

I'm not sure Fonfara has what it takes to beat him though.
His fight with Cleverly was competitive, then he was KO'ed by Smith, didn't look too hot against Dawson.

I think Fonfara will take it to him, and Stevenson will stop him in the process.

How long has Stevenson been inactive now he's gotta be a rusty 40 year old, probably still has KO power but has slowed down tremendously. Would be pretty weird if fonfara wins the green strap after that joe smith beating but it Just might happen.
