The point is that WBC gave plenty of notice that they were calling in the mandatory. Both Cotto and Canelo knew full well that they had to defend against Golovkin next or vacate so there is nothing to cry about from Canelos side. They're acting like they got singled out and treated unfairly by the WBC so now they're gonna take their ball and go home.
My point really doesn't have anything to do with Golovkin it's just that he was the mandatory. The mandatory could have been anyone and it's the same thing.

Probably. Just like Joshua will probably be stripped for making a contractually obligated rematch with Wlad. And Indongo will likely be stripped for fighting the universally recognized best fighter in his division. Its a joke. I don't understand why people take the sanctioning bodies seriously. And throughout the 00s, they became close to irrelevant. Really don't understand how they've made a comeback. I blame the influx of new, relatively uneducated fans that the Floyd-Manny soap opera brought to the sport. And most of those fans that where on the Manny side have latched on to GGG. Why would i be happy about another man being paid. I don't begrudge a man a payday, but i won't get to spend it.

It also doesn't change what the guy i quoted said. Cotto and Canelo knew the deal they signed up for. No point crying about it when the time came for them to stick to the deal.
