Is it easier to fight a trained boxer or a brawler?

I always wondered this. If you're boxing a trained figher, he's going to know not to go in and get cracked and knows to keep his distance, and knows not to throw big shots always, because he may leave himself open. When you box a brawler, they just swing big shots, take shots, and don't even know what's the right thing to do. I think it's harder to fight a brawler than it is to fight a trained fighter, what is your opinion.

a brawler at the begining, but after a little while into the fight you can control the brawler a bit more, while a boxer might endup controling you after a while

Boxing the guys that just wing 'em is easy pickin's. You might get caught with a few but shooting them straight down the pipe they will get there alot faster than wide swinging hooks. If you say brawler then you never fought a well trained fighter before.

I think it depends on your style.
Some brawlers are very dangerous (LaMotta, Foreman), while some boxers could win many fights (Sugar Ray Robinson, Ali).
It seems to depend on your style and how you deal with the opponent.

I'll tell you this, if you try throwing jabs in a street fight, you're liable to get your hand cut off or something. A boxer knows how to throw his punches more correct, but if you're going up against a guy in a street fight with no rules, you're gonna need alot more than straight punches. You're gonna need balls. I've been in street fights with boxers before and let me tell you this, boxing skill means very little out there. Its all about who punches harder and has the bigger balls, not whose got the better head movement.

you havent fought very good street fighters then ...you can have all the balls in the world but if he knows how to fight better, is more shilled, stronger, faster, balls arnt doing a damn thing for you other then helping you get hurt even more. look at all the pros that are dead or hurt for life because they had balls and didnt give up when they should have
