Imagine some Polish or Lithuanian or some type of fake European was marketed by a UK broadcaster as the next best thing. Imagine he received higher purses than any fighter born in an English hospital.
Imagine Sky Sports took this person around the country to different venues and they were selling out at the gate.

Could you imagine Frank or Eddie doing that?. It would never ever ever ever happen.

HBO have done this with Gennady because Joe Smith Jr's are in short supply. That's the truth there.

i dislike golovkin and im a mid 30s white male....i do not dislike kovalev or loma ...and i never disrespect them either....golovkins fans are annoying and his career is carefully plotted...hes not the god some people NEED him to be in order to feel fulfilled...he ducked a totally feasible fight with a featherfisted 168 champ

My problem with Greybumpkin is well documented.

He is one of the most underachieving champions the sport has ever seen.

I like the guy personally and what really pisses me off is how much of an icon he might have been had they done things better.

That's what sucks, GGG is easy to like. He's a come forward brawler with KO power, he's the type of fighter people want to love. And he's not just a puncher, he's got some skill as a boxer.

3 things have ruined him though.
His handlers put him in against nobodies for most of his career andnhere he is at 35 still looking for his first great win.
HBO has over promoted him.
