This is getting ridiculous. Cotto vs. Canelo is beyond pointless. Cotto is just a notch on up-and-coming boxers. I got love for the Boricua, but damn, he needs to stop taking abuse. Cotto skills diminished when Margarito pelted him with loaded gloves. GBP is turning into, if not already, Bob Arum.

With Brook losing and his team saying they want to move up to 154. If Cotto beats kamagai grabs vacant WBO 154 title. Cotto vs Brook is a great fight for both camps to cash out.

Even when Cotto was young. he was a bit slower than the great fighters of his time. Now that he is old and one foot into retirement, I do not know how much mileage GBP can get from him. No more great boxing left in him.

By the way, he definitively lost to Canelo, FMJ and Pacquiao.

I also wouldn't watch a Canelo v Cotto rematch, but like Canelo v Chavez, you will have a lot of Mexicans and Puerto Ricans who will fund it so that the fight makes sense for Golden Boy (well, the Chavez fight only had Mexicans, but you know what I mean).

The weight would be interesting though, and might be the only thing to stop it happening. If Canelo is going to settle at 160, its not good for him to be jumping up and down weight between fights. If he went 164.5 to 160, then back to 155 (for Cotto), then back to 160, not sure thats in his best interests - best to stay at 160 and max out at that weight.

Would Cotto go higher than 155 for Canelo ? He's never fought at 160 before, so might be something like 157, but then it just gives Canelo and even bigger size advantage, and what with Cotto not getting any younger, its unlikely to be anything but and easy win for Canelo.

Canelo is too big for Cotto. We have seen it.

Cotto vs Bradley, Lara, Thurman, Spence jr, etc

Canelo vs Lemieux, Charlo, Jacobs, Saunders, Eubank jr, etc
