    It's all banter

As I said yesterday, well done Spence, and to all the spence fans who get to rub it in our faces today!

Gotta love the US vs UK banter & rivalry, I think it's healthy for the sport to have that angle too, adds the extra drama.

Spence fans don't go overboard quite yet though, you could end up eating crow like us Brook fans if you hype him up too much haha

Much love to our American buddies, you done good this time.

Good thread, this is how I feel too.

I think a lot of people don't get that US vs UK is met with a lot of indifference on the America side of things, while it really gets UK fans fired up, so when UK posters come onto the forums talking mad trash in their buildup, the more casual Americans fans are confused and annoyed. American boxing fans center more on internal rivalries (Mexican-American vs Puerto Rican American, Polish-American from Jersey vs African American from NYC) in our typical self centered fashion. It's every once in a blue moon that you get something like Lewis-Holyfield or Hatton-Mayweather that gets EVERYONE screaming and waving flags and talking ****.

Love British fighters, look forward to more guys like Kell Brook coming from the UK and having great careers.

Rivalries are good for sports. It's harder to find rivalries in individual sports. I love all the rivalries in boxing, PR v. Mex, UK v. US, and even the race rivalries don't bother me.
