Comments Thread For: Porter: Spence Sent Message To Entire Welterweight Division

Former world champion Shawn Porter was ringside on Saturday night at Bramall Lane in Sheffield, and watched Errol Spence (22-0, 19 KOs) stop Kell Brook in eleven rounds to capture the IBF welterweight title. Brook was put down in the tenth and then took a voluntary knee in the eleventh for the full count. It was revealed afterwards that Brook had suffered a fractured left orbital bone.

Porter has a heart and aggressiveness I saw him fight Kell Brook at the StubHub.. Spence was able to do way more with Brook then Porter.. he doesn't have the size or reach to hang with Spence I got Spence by KO

Porter sounds like a cheerleader. I can almost picture him with pom poms doing this interview. Don't big up a guy in your own weight class. Although that is Porter's personality, he's a humble guy and all, but i'd like to see more fire come out of guys in such a hot division.

You sound like a deflated and broken man...broken like the eye sockets of your idol brook. Feels bad man. King Khan never took a knee like a coward...you should be embarrassed as a brook worshipper.

This doesn't mean Porter feels he doesn't have what it takes to bulldog Spence. It shows that Porter knows Spence and one should know what he's dealing with someday. Props is all good when keeping it real.

Bradley wouldn't have a chance...too small and gets hit way too cleanly and has absolutely no power to speak of. He'd go within 7 or 8. Thurman's legs might buy him a few more rounds.

Porter actually might have the best chance. He could cause some issues with his wild ****. Headbutts cause cuts. That might be a way to beat Spence lol Ultimately he'll get stopped too though.

It'll take a pure boxer who can move or some true KO power to beat this kid. He'll bully this division like Hagler did to MW.

Porter would actually be a a tough matchup for Spence. Spence isn't at his best when fighting off the backfoot, but **** neither is Shawn. It's all about who will be able to impose their will on the other man.
