Stop comparing Lomachenko, Crawford, Spence to Pacquiao and Mayweather!

These two legends are of the upper echelon greats who I have personally on my top 15 ATG's. Spence, Crawford, and Lomachenko are not in their level yet of greatness and probably would never will be, so stop talking about Lomachenko will be better than Pacquiao this, Mayweather that. Or Crawford being the young Floyd this, the young Floyd that, Pac didn't KO Algerie this, Errol Spence did that.

These three have a journey on their own, and a legacy of their own, to have them on the shadow of greater fighters is just insulting and not supporting!

I agree with you that they're not there yet. However, they've taken steps in that direction and pass the eye test so let's not say "probably never will". I do think the comparisons should cool down until these guys prove themselves more. People are so "in the now" and quick to forget exactly how much Pac and May accomplished. It'll take years to achieve that, if they can find enough good competition.

I'm saying "Probably never will" Because when by the time May and Pac was 28 they were already established HOF and did greater thnigs late in to their career, but these guys at 28 are just "Starting to do greater things."

Your 1st solid thread I've seen so far... I fully agree. Floyd and Manny are on a whole other level compared to these guys. I highly doubt they will have half as good a resume as either by the time they are done. They all started doing decent things later in age and have way too much to make up for to be compared to the legit ATG's.

Yes, they aren't there yet and perhaps they never will be.

Mainly chenko for his footwork and domination of featherweight. Its all over YT boxing channels thay called him pacquiao 2.0 etc etc. Or a "refined version" of pacquiaos style of fighting.

Floyd and Pac are special in that ...that are/were smaller fighters who fought in a division they didn't need to fight in.

Floyd was a basically a small welterweight, but his frame was ideal for today's 140 division.

PAC's height/reach/weight/frame..says he's really a 140lber growing into that weight after 20 years in the sport.

                ......
IMO, Spence and Crawford are big dudes. The eye test shows that they are indeed special.
To get into a similar level..they need to fight guys their own size. (brook is a good start for Spence)

Crawford would need to move up eventually to 147 and dominate.
Spence would need to unify 147 and then test himself at Jr middleweight.

He is a refined version but Pacquiao been in some wars. Until Lomachenko slugs his way out of a few dog fights I wouldn't put him on that level.

I'd agree it is too early to make comparisons. But it is a bit off the mark to say that Lomachenko will probably never be considered to be of the same caliber.

He is already the best amateur of all time. He has already been breaking records in his short time as a pro. He looks like he will be the fighter of his generation. He has a way to go until he can be compared properly to pac or pbf. But he is the likeliest fighter I can see to do it.
