Bramall Lane, Sheffield - For the vacant WBA super middleweight title, George Groves (26-3, 19 KOs) stopped Fedor Chudinov (14-2, 10 KOs) in six rounds to finally become a world champion. This was the fourth attempt for a world title for Groves, who lost in previous attempts against Carl Froch (twice) and Badou Jack. Chudinov, a former WBA champion, lost a controversial decision in the rematch with Felix Sturm, who also failed a drug test after the fight.

Don't they have a standing count before a stoppage? seemed premature. The guy didn't even go down.

Excellent from groves. Sickening punches being landed there. Good stoppage.

Naw bro, he ate 20 punches in a row without even moving or firing back. He was out on his feet. Good stoppage. Chudinov is still the man and a good fighter.

Chudinov, like his brother or cousin or whatever, has an insane chin. Holy crap.

Was a really bad stoppage yeah he got him hurt but dude wasn't even stumbling and groves was bombing on him why would he want to throw back at that moment? Lol.. he was basically doing his face defense like Arturo gatti and got stopped for it, this happens in the U.K. a lot.

WOW I thought Groves showed tremendous skill in there tonight.. regardless of what happens from here It would've been ashame If Groves had went though his career and never became a World Champion..

Another early stoppage in the UK favoring the home fighter! this is sad. I had Grove up by a point even with a potential knockdown with the assault caused the ref to jump in Chudinov could of got the win. The UK is terrible for foreigners.
