I think Winky should have been awarded the decision against Vargas too. In my book he only has 2 losses.

I never really heard Winky talk before DLH/Hop fight. He sounds like Tone Loc. Its funny as all hell.

Winky is too good for his own good. Only Mosley has the ***els to fight him. Oscar will never fight Winky, unless he(wright) loses to someone else first. I feel Winky Wright is probably the best fighter in Boxing. I see a Tito fight as a nice one, but it won't happen. If it did, I would pick Wright by decision.

DLH and Hopkins were the best hes fouhgt but I wouldnt say he wasnt competitve with both. Either way, your theory that he cant beat people who move in the ring doesnt hold water.

        The guy has beaten:

        William Joppy
        David Reid
        Pernell Whitaker
        Oba Carr
        Héctor Camacho Sr.

If you hate the guy you hate the guy but dont paint with such a broad brush and say its a fact that he cant handel guys who move because that just bull****. He had trouble with TWO guys who both happen to be great.
Pay attentiuon cause its obvious your not getting me here. Im judging him when fighting world class competion here, guys who are oin his level and not pushovers. In the two biggest fights of his life and against the two best figyters he's fought he wasn't competative. DLH nearly outlanded him at a 2-1 clip and didn't even make an attempt to fight the last 4 rounds.

Whitiker was an old man who was coming off a year long suspension for *******. How come Tito didn't fight Whitiker back in 94 when Whitiker was still good?

are you really bringing up 2nd and 3rd rate guy like Camacho and Carr to try and prove a point?

William Joppy tried to go right in and out muscle Tito and it failed miserably.

As far as Ried goes. Have you actually watched the first 5 rounds of that fight? Ried made him look flat out silly. Ried swept the first 5 rounds and scored a knockdown in the 3rd. In the 6th Tito finds his weak chin and the fight is over. To say he didn't have his problems with Ried is crazy.

To say he doesn't have problems with guys who move is flat out laughable.

AGAIN Its not a knock on
him its a style flaw just like James Toney, everyone has them and this is his.

he's not the best by far. Winky up until Mosley had done nothing whatsoever to even deserve a shot at DLH. Wright had lost every single time he had ever stepped up and his biggest win came over Bronko McKart.

Wright had chances against Vasquez, Simon and VBargas to prove he was foreal and couldn't do it. You not ducked if you recieve shots at 2/3 of the belts in your division.

I think Tito has problems with fighters who move but, then again, who doesn't? Name one fighter who doesn't have a stylistic mismatch with a pure boxer, I dare you!

I believe Tito walks right through the feather-fisted Wright en route to an 11th round TKO. Wright will make him look foolish for the first four or five rounds but then Tito will see that Wright can't hurt him and will walk him down with style. Winky has a good chance to beat Tito if he (Tito) reverts back to his old style but he showed good foot movement and counterpunching skills (better than he had before retirement) against Mayorga.

I know people will argue that fighting Mayorga is like fighint a tree because he doesn't move around, but you would be wrong. I saw Mayorga use skills I didn't think he had against Tito but he just got too tired from those three DEVASTATING Tito left hooks he allowed Trinidad to connect in the first round. Had he not done that I don't think the fight would've ended so soon.

i don't agree, hopkins needed 11 rounds to beat trinidad! trinidad beat dela hoya, right?! what do you mean competitive? trinidad lost to hopkins because the latter was too strong for him. hopkins caught him in the mid-section just like dela hoya. if you're caught with a lethal punch and you lost, how do you summarize that? that's a knockdown lost, right? if i remember it right, he was doing well the early rounds before he got knocked down in the 11th. he was competitive when he fought hopkins, he gave hopkins a run for his money, it's just that hopkins proved to be stronger for him.

trinidad would muscle his way to get that power punches connected! with winky wright as a defender, trinidad could pull this through! trinidad is stronger than winky so trinidad won't have any problem with this fight! late ko for trinidad.

                      Some things that may help:

Winky is 32 years old; Tito won't be until January next year.

                      Tito has a 72.5 reach to Winky's 72.0 reach

Tito is taller at 5'11 to Winky's 5'9

Inspite of his two-year hiatus, Tito has fought only 7 times less than Winky. Trinidad: 42-1-0 (35); Wright: 47-3 (25)

Trinidad's victims include Campas who was 56-0 when they met, Oba Carr who was 32-0 going into their match and the master defensive tactician, Pernell Whitaker (then, 40-2) who went down in the 2nd round, picked himself up and went on to lose by UD.

Winky and Trinidad had a common foe in Fernando Vargas. Tito TKO'd Vargas in the 12th in a WBA-IBF title fight; Winky lost to Vargas through a Majority Decision when Judge David Hess submitted a draw score card.

Winky has had three losses, Tito one. In one of those few losses (to the then 50-1-0 Julio Cesar Vasquez), Winky went down once each in the 2nd, 7th and 9th rounds, and then twice more in the 12th. Winky lost by UD. His only other loss (aside from those to Vargas and Vasquez) was to Harry Simon (then 16-0) for the WBO LightMiddleweight Title (MD).

Winky has never been totally stopped; Tito, once, by Hopkins, and tasted canvass a number of times on KD.

Winky met Bronco McKart twice and won both meetings. In the second encounter, McKart was DQ'd in the 8th after the ref deducted 5 (!) points for excessive low blows.

Now, fellas, you figure... But remember, a Glenn Johnson with a lousy record met Roy Jones, Jr and....
