Francisco "El Bandido" Vargas lost his WBC super featherweight title in January when he was stopped by Miguel Berchelt at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio. Calif. in an HBO televised main event. The fight was the latest in a trilogy of grueling fights for the Mexico City native. On the Canelo Alvarez-Miguel Cotto pay-per-view undercard, he got off the canvas to stop Takashi Miura to become a world champion. Sandwiched in between that barnburner and the Berchelt fight, he battled former champion Orlando Salido to a draw in another exciting but draining fight.

It's not that he thought that he could walk through people. The type of fighters he fought require you to fight fire with fire. Hopefully from this point forward he will try to box more because he has great boxing instincts

Vargas needs to going back to bring a boxer/puncher. Prior to Miura he was never had a brawler styles. Since then he's became more of a toe to toe fighter instead of using his skills to the best if his ability.

Hopefully this changes in his next fight.
