Golovkin weighs around 170/171 (he's been 173) on fight night, he's not small.
He's definitely smaller than Ward though, Ward rehydrates to 180-185 in shape and lean, GG rehydrates to 170 in shape.Comment

We don't know. Obviously he'd weigh less than he does now at 175. Lil G nuthuggers keep trying to use that he now fights at 175 against him. The offer was for 168. Look at the MW's i listed a few of them weighed less than Golovkin on fight night and moved up in weight. Hopkins weighed less than Golovkin does and moved up to 175.Last edited by Robbie Barrett; 05-27-2017, 12:28 PM.Comment

no sane, unbiased, rational person ever bought the "small mw" excuse that golovkins fans concocted solely for his duck of ward
small MWs aint tryna fight froch and chavez...small mws dont mention degale and zurdo on several occasions...small mws dont have their trainer walking around talking "my guy can beat anyone at 175 that fights right now"......unless of course that was all made up chatter designed to get the public to buy into the hype? only other explanation really
anyways...golovkin is good sized MW totally capable of fighting a featherfisted 168 champ...he just didnt want that workComment

Maybe he's trying to come big against Canelo? like 173 or 175 fight night weight?Abel Sanchez (best i've trained) - Sep 2016
STRONGEST
Golovkin: Golovkin by far. I wouldn’t say at the beginning when I started working with him but now he’s just so physically imposing. His body is just a piece of rock, he keeps himself in such good shape that I don’t think I’ve ever felt him out-of-shape. His arms, you can knock on them like you do steel, he’s just a guy who has genetics maybe that we were able to bring out with strength work and now his body is chiselled, not only chiselled but hard chisel.
Maybe he's training 3 times per week with weights to maintain the muscle but he's eating well and trying to bulk some muscle.
He is probably around 180.Comment
