Comments Thread For: Groves: I Genuinely Believe I am a Better Fighter Than Chudinov

GEORGE GROVES is more interested in being world champion than the love of the British public. The Londoner goes for his fourth world title shot when he fights for the WBA super-middleweight title against Fedor Chudinov in Sheffield on Saturday. Groves, 29, could replicate former British heavyweight and national treasure Frank Bruno in winning a world title in his fourth attempt.

Better boxer? Offensively yes. But defensively? Nope. Plus Chudinov has a chin and confidence. Sayonara Ginger bread man!

Chudinov is the perfect type of opponent for Groves, he lacks power and doesnt fight on the inside. Hes going to play the outside game and will get out gunned by Groves.

If Groves loses again, is he the record holder for unsuccesful bids for a title?

Martin Murray must be up there? still thought he was robbed v Martinez though and arguably beat Sturm aswell.

Murray definitely goes down as the most unlucky.

Groves is a good fighter. Lost a close fight to Badou Jack when he was probably at his worst looking sluggish under Fitzpatrick. Lost controversially to Froch in the first fight, giving Froch hell for the first half of the fight and then got KO'd in the second one. He's never been totally outclassed in his losses despite being in with very good fighters.. Even the time he got stopped by Froch, it was a good competitive fight until Froch landed that shot.

Groves on his day at his best would be a tough fight for any of the current SMW's and winnable for Groves, but he always seems that bit fragile too.

Groves is a fighter who I want to never win a title, due to his carry on between the two froch fights and the very ugly side of the british fanbase he exposed.

That said, chudinov is very very average so groves probably gets it right at the 4th attempt
