But to the topic, I haven't seen enough of Spence to say he'd beat Thurman - I'm hoping to get alot of questions answered this weekend. Keith used to leave himself pretty open when he attacked, and he's tightened that up significantly in his last several fights.
Yeah am expecting a lot of answers to various questions this weekend, Brook is a well schooled fighter but one of the reasons am going with Errol is that body first then head attacks, the only question here is can he do it to Brook who is a lot better opponent than Spence previous. My answer so far is yes in my head, secondly I think years and years of Brook fighting mediocre competition would catch up with him this weekend. I really do hope Brook wins but I can't see past a Spence win at the moment.

Keith definitely had tighten things up, he now knows he cannot KO everyone so if the KO comes it comes, I could see why Bundu said Thurman punches harder with his single shots.

A lot of revisionist history going with the Thurman Bundu fight. Thurman didn't "choose" not to stop Bundu, he couldn't.... why would a power puncher take a come forward pillow fisted opponent 12 rounds???

Thurman looked very uncomfortable for that whole fight and his hype took a serious dent that night, that's when guys started calling him "Run time"
Power isn't the only aspect of delivering a KO, there's plenty of big punchers who have gone 12 rounds with people who have been stopped by lesser punchers, A guy went 12 rounds with GGG that Chad Dawson KO'd, does that mean Chad Dawson hits harder?

Having a harder punch doesn't always result in you knocking someone out.

Dawson stopped that guy in 10 or 11 rounds and GGG decisioned him over 8 rounds so that's not a valid example as GGG obviously had less rounds to get the KO.

I agree with you that having a harder punch than someone doesn't mean you will knock out a similar opponent in quicker fashion.

Bundu is ultimately the best person to talk about who hits harder as he faced both and I can respect that. My issue is the statement that Thurman "chose" to box Bundu, that's hogwash. He didn't...... he found Bundu to be harder to hit and hurt after that first round and was unable to stop him, SIMPLE.

We all watched the fight here that night and most felt Thurman looked like ****, so I don't know where all this he "chose to box" talk is coming from.

Yeah but lets not forget the body shot from williamsburg that put Thurman in all kinds of troubles. Spence can do that even better.

Makes a lot of sense when you understand what he means regarding heavy hands and snap on the end of them, he is describing two different types of heavy punchers.

I thought it was an interesting insight from Bundu, Spence is like a machine going through the motion like he has a mechanical way of punching, Thurman is like a whip cracking .

Then we pretty much agree with each other, I don't buy into Thurman 'trying to box' either, it's not like you're going to pass up finishing a guy if you can.

Thurman may hit harder but to me Spence has more snap in his shot so it's hard to say, Bundu is the man who knows though so I guess we should go on his word.

Maybe Spence will show us what sort of power he has at top level on Saturday night.

Interesting insight from Bundu. Thurman is the faster of the two, that makes his punches harder to see, maybe that's why Bundu felt his power more.

                  Styles make fights.

Spence likes to grind his opponents down. Thurman likes to ambush fighters.

I think Spence is style and Lefty punching will negate any so-called advantage Thurman has in hand speed I still look for Spence in two years to fight Thurman and win...

I actually wondered what he thought about that matchup. I do think Spence has the style to beat Thurman because to beat one time you have to force him to fight your fight. You can't show him to do that hop in and out at will.
