I don't think risk is the issue at this stage of the game. His skills have eroded to the point that young lions coming up, that may not even have the firepower Manny still possesses, would require the type of training and preparation that Pac probably just doesn't want to go through at this age. The camp required to take on a guy like Spence would just be too much for Manny.

At least Spence is fighting a dangerous opponent in his prime for his first title shot. He's already off to a better start than Floyd. Now he just has to make sure he doesn't turn into a low-risk/high reward boring fighting. Keep taking on those big challenges, win convincingly. Be humble yet confident, don't slap your baby mamas around, and you should do well for yourself.

or just drain the hell out of fighters and bring them down from 154 to 145 like manny the cherrypicking expert did to oscar and cotto hahahahha....

In other words, when I consider Floyd Mayweather, I see a once great fighter who devolved into a cherry-picking, hugging, grabbing, pot-shotting, money- grubbing fighter- who was willing to charge top dollar for lack-luster performances. I do not want to see Spence become like him and am alarmed to hear him say he wants to be. I get the work ethic and focus that Floyd possesses, but not his fight tactics. Spence has the potential to become much more of a greater fighter.
