Left out Laszlo Papp, he had over 300 amateur bouts as well, only lost about 10 or 12. Won three Olympic gold medals.
Sometimes a long amateur career can actually hurt a fighter when he turns pro. Particularly if he developed bad habits in the amateurs or continues to fight like an amateur who is trying to win on points.
Loma posted this on twitter, didn't know broner had that many fights.. loma is clearly the goat at AMs
Nobody knows that these records are real. Nobody keeps track, we just have to believe what the fighters tell us. I know the Golovkin record is wrong, he has at least 8 losses.
I call bs on Broner's numbers. For that record he didn't seem to win nearly enough notable tournaments. And typically there aren't THAT many random amateur shows to pop off so many fights. Could be he just had a sh^tload of fights when he was super young or something to idk, but it definitely smells like bs to me.
Also throw my man Mark Breland in there. 110-1 (73 KO's iirc). That was the most impressive amateur record I had heard of for a long time when I first got interested in boxing.
And a notable thing about ODLH's record is iirc he had around 150 KO's in the amateurs which is crazy. Oscar was f#cking sh^t up in his amateur days.

Amateur records are like PPV numbers. Even the ones you tend to see & believe the most are still pretty f#cking suspect cuz there is no Boxrec for amateur boxing.
