Looking forward to the Spence is Jeff Lacy threads like with Tank & seeing those comments dry up quick once again lol. Should be a fun one whatever happens, but anyone thinking Spence is gonna Lacy it don't know sh^t about this thing called boxing I know that.Comment

As much as i agree with that, i don't think Spence is a Lacy at all, but i'd imagine if you go back 10+ years, some people were probably comparing Lacy to another exposed hypejob before he lost and some supporters would be saying "Anyone that thinks Lacy is *fighter* don't know **** about boxing".
As i say, i don't think Spence is, but there's nothing certain about anything in boxing until it's proven.Comment

Idk man. I never saw the depth in Lacy's game like I see in Spence's game is the thing. I mean all hype isn't the same. Its not like just cuz you're a young undefeated Olympian means you are getting hyped for the same reasons.
I recall Lacy's hype largely being based of how hard he hit. I specifically recall some lbs per inch of force heavy bag test he did where he was off the charts or some such bs like that that got a lot of people amped about him. Boxing IQ/skills-wise I don't know that anyone ever was super hyped on him in that regard & I know I personally wasn't.
On the other hand Spence's hype is off of his boxing skill & other highly skilled boxers saying "oh sh^t this kid gots some talent". And personally I see some talent in the kid too thats not every day random top 20 type guy talent, thats already at a level more exceptional than most of the dummy posters around here wanna acknowledge (not you at all by the way as I recall you & I both being among the minority of people calling the Fury upset over Klitschko).
And none of this is to say Spence can't lose to Brook, cuz he can, Brook don't exactly suck either of course, but I can't see this being a, almost boringly brought up by some UK fans lately, Lacy vs Calzaghe one sided domination type fight if Spence does come up short.
And I think that once this fight is over this Saturday the story will likely be that with a more proven history there was more hype surrounding Brook then Spence. Although thats a much bolder & questionable stance then the Lacy silliness.Comment
