more pro experience but Taylor was a Team GB amateur. Davies took up boxing late iirc.

I think Taylor is more rounded as a fighter

      Good fight!

People were saying they should have waited longer to build their records but i disagree. DeGale And Groves fought pretty early in their career, DeGale lost and it didn't do him any harm.

          Obviously pro experience.

I was impressed with his win over Dave Ryan who's a good fighter imo.
As I said, hard to split them. Favour OD slightly, but like both guys and think it could go either way.

agreed. its cause people on here are so obsessed with unbeaten records. they equate a loss as meaning the guy is exposed or no good. both fighters are young and both can regroup if they lose, good on them for taking the fight.

Comments Thread For: Josh Taylor vs. Ohara Davies Deal Reached, July 8 in Glasgow

After months of talking trash, a deal has been reached where junior welterweight rivals Ohara Davies (15-0, 12 KOs) and Josh Taylor (9-0, 8 KOs) will collide on July 8th at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow. Davies doesn't think much of Taylor and believes he can blow him out inside the distance.

Warren wasn't about to scuttle a meal ticket. Indongo better move on, if he can. America is a big market for a road warrior like him. He pretty much cleaned out 140 in the UK. Taylor is a test for Ohara, but anything less than spectacular pushes Indongo further down the road.

Don't see these fights often where top prospects get matched up early in their careers. Good for the fans, but I'd be ****ting bricks if I was the promoter of 1 of these guys. If one of them isn't ready and gets beat down, sometimes you never come back the same from it. I've only seen highlights of Taylor, so I lean Davies, but need to watch some more of Taylor's fights before making a decision
