He was winning that fight he was just cut and sure he could have lost the eye but that should be his choice. Those people are warriors in there and I didnt see one sign of quiting coming from him in this fight. Vitali was willing to keep fighting as bad as the cut was so I dont know what your talking about. And you speak about respect for the sport **** have you watched it the past few years obviously there are alot more reasons than a cut to have people not watch or respect the sport anymore, for instance HW's now that only fight once a year......****ing Pathetic that all I have to say about that.

Yes and he was training for the Kirk Johnson fight, when Kirk pulled out, he was replaced by Vitali, dont you think it would have affected his training? both fighters have different styles.

it's very possible that vitali could've won the fight, no doubt. but the fact is the doctor stated to the ref that the fight be stopped and the ref simply called the fight.

i think it was a good stoppage. vitali might have been able to go another round, or two at most. there's no doubt that he would've fought on no matter what, but that cut had been targeted by lewis' jab, been ripped further by lewis' head, and made worse by vk's cutman(you never, ever, wipe a gash like that with a rough towel or stick a cotton swap in it!)

the only thing i wish would've happened is that the ref should've said to vitali something like "one more round and i'm going to have to stop the fight." if he said that in the fifth round, the sixth would've been much more interesting as vk would've known he had to go for a KO.

Yeah the champions used to fight all the time when there was only 8 weight classes and 1 belt in each class. Back then a Champion was a Champion and you had more to prove, now a days you have a weight class every damn 4 lbs and 4 different belts in every weight class. How the hell can you keep tract of whats what and who's who?

Nope because Vitali was'nt fighting lewis then, Kirk Johnson had some injury and then 2 weeks before the fight, Lewis was told he is facing Klitschko

some people believe had it gone further, vitali would have won the fight

of course the advantage was with lewis had the fight gone on. vit was cut horribly and would have had vision problems etc...vit was ahead on the cards and no one knows for sure what would have happened had it continued but there's no real point in speculating anyway as cuts are a part of boxing and yes lewis did win fair and square. thats my last thought on this fight. Im sick of talking about it. would have been nice to see a rematch,,,but lewis probably did the right thing. he was getting older and showing signs in that fight of slowing down some
