yes people like floyd have lower expectations. they can land lower quality punches and still win fights based on other factors that are completely subjective. they can win fights by cheating and even get credit for cheating. other guys like henry akwindade or jesus chavez get dq'd. born in the wrong country fellows!

i dont even dispute that floyd landed more "punches" than pac. my argument is based on cleaner flusher punches. this was usually floyds calling card but when the opposite happened he still won...i did my own compubox numbers and had floyd landing i think 8 more total "punches". cept when you factor in that his punches were of such low quality and pacs were of a much higher quality he should have won. low quality punches=low expectations. you think if people were landing that grazing crap against floyd they wold have gotten much credit...no he gets credit for great defense by taking the sting out of the punch. does pac get credit for rolling/slipping and hardly getting caught clean...nope! face first bum look at the stats!

90 percent of pacs punches were easy to see and snapped floyds head back or made clear contact where as at least 50 percent of floyds were the "did that even make contact" grazing type. isnt that an argument in itself that floyd didnt deserve to win. if a punch is so hard to tell if it even landed how effective is that punch really? pretending that a grazing punch and a punch that lands flush and knocks your opponents head back are the same is just the dumbing down of boxing that caters to people with low expectations. its all the same! who does that favor....the a-sides and already established fighters.

also another reason pac deserved to win is because the vast majority of his punches were power punches. the vast majority of floyds were jabs and we are not talking ggg jabs, we are talking grazing pacs head jabs. also sometimes floyd would literally touch or push pacs head with his glove. is that a punch? pretty sure the rules say its not. in real life its not but once again when you have low expectations...

even cheating is seen as a positive when you have low expectations. normally when a guy cheats thats seen as something bad, something that one does because they cant compete on an even playing field. when a floyd or ward holds or bends over constantly its considered good defense, good control of pace, ring generalship etc...once again they arent even expected to fight fair right out of the gate. people know they will do these illegal moves and either dont care or give them credit for doing them even though it clearly helps them win(why else would they do it just look at floyd-maidana 2)

because people have this expectation that Mayweather and Ward are lowering their opponents output with their defense.

That is a psychological con you see...

the fact is, when you throw 10 hugs around and run around the rest of the time.... of course that's going to lower your opponents offensive output.

I agree with you. PAC usually throws a million punches a round. But the fact Floyd got PACs punch output down, they assume Floyd must be winning?
But anyone knkiws its because Floyd himself barely throwd any punches himself a d whiulkst not punching is either out of distance or clinching

Agree with this as well. People play like Floyd lowered Pac's output that fight an sure there was some contribution (the clenches were there and long) but it was pretty obvious that Pac's plan wasn't to do his normal high volume, he was picking his shots and trying to counter Floyd.

Spot on. Pac didn't beat Mayweather to the point that he busted him up and dropped him or knocked him out. This is why Mayweather was given the decision. Anything short of a blow out and Mayweather wins. Yet, what did he actually DO to win the fight? As you say, Pac landed the cleaner punches in a low volume, low energy fight. Mayweather did very little and a great piece of evidence is the little talk between him and his dad before the decision was announced. He knew he lost but will never admit it. I'll tell you. As the years go by, Mayweather's legacy won't grow. It will diminish more and more when folks really start looking closely at his fights with the commentary turned off. He's one big media manipulation that gave little and took all.

                      exactly.

                      same psychology with Golovkin/Jacobs.

Every round ending with Jacobs screaming, they gave it to him because sensationalism is huge with these emotional mouth breathers. HE SURVIVED! HE WON!
