A guy that I boxed out of the same club with as an amatuer fought and defeated Tefillio Stephenson. As far as I know he is the only american to do it, could be wrong though. He turned pro and never did much. A great amatuer career does not gaurantee professional success. The cubans always had an awsome amatuer team though.
