Comments Thread For: Anthony Yarde Aims To Do Heavy Damage at Copper Box

Fight fans should witness the full extent of Anthony Yarde's feted potential this weekend when he enters a championship ring for the first time at the Copper Box Arena in Hackney. The 25 year old Beast' from Ilford, Essex has required just 16 rounds combined to exterminate his opening 10 opponents since entering the profession as a relative novice two years ago.

I thinks it's about time Yarde and his team move up a few levels. He looks to have sound technique and doesn't have any noticeable flaws to iron out, so why keep fighting cab drivers.

His next opponent Chris Hobbs doesn't look too great either!

Dont mind pros fighting low opposition when they lack a long amateur background

I agree with you if the fighter needs that development time to iron out any mistakes he makes. Yarde seems to be levels above the guys he is currently fighting which won't do much for his development.

Yeah i tend to agree with this. Yarde might be inexperienced but he is clearly too good for the guys he has been fighting. I think he will step through the levels quickly now as Warren needs stars and Yarde has all the potential in the world in and out of the ring

Hobbs is no push over & this is no foregone conclusion. However, I'm edging toward Yarde for the win. It's still early day's for him & it's fantastic to see him fight for the traditional BBBofC area title rather than some made up intercontinental/international alphabet bauble on his way up the ladder. Personally & if successful, I'd like to see him have the opportunity of taking a few low key fights on the continent, before going for English, British & Commonwealth titles!!......

Yarde been getting the typical slow walk thru the lilies from Warren. Finally a small step up. We will see how he reacts to someone actually throwing back at him
