Do you really think Canelo-Golovkin sells more than Canelo-Chavez Jr?

Canelo-Chavez jr sold at least 1 million PPV, that's what they say.
Plus huge ratings in Mexico and worldwide. (We got it for free on cable In Argentina, and did a fight party in which even a disabled guy showed up). Interest was high.

Now, all those people who a few didn't know Golovkin (most casuals know him already) now know him. And they know now, that it's the fight that we all wanted.

But still, breaking 1 million PPVs will be hard. Considering that many people that bought that farce of fight against Chavez jr, would probably not pay for a fight for the next 24 months.

    What do you think?

I don't. I think it sells similar or slightly less than Cotto fight. Could be wrong, but Golovkin is not the right nationality and burst onto the scene too late to make him into a mainstream star. He'll never be a huge PPV attraction.

Could be wrong. This is without a shadow of a doubt one of the biggest and talked about fights in boxing outside of May-Pac in the last 10 years. It could sell 2.5m PPVs - I just don't think it does,

Alvarez vs Golovkin is supposed to be the next big blockbuster fight, and the only media source who has mentioned the fight (after the initial pub across the boxing press on the announcement) is Max Kellerman on First Take (and he's got an HBO cheque).

Fight is still 4 months away, but the lack of initial interest beyond the boxing world is pretty telling.

WTF?? This is the fight everyone has been asking for. Canelo Chavez was the fight no one asked for and still did over a mill. Expect this one to pull 1.5 to 2 mill.

Remember, this isn't Golovkin #'s + Canelo #'s. There's a synergy that makes them greater than the sum of their parts. That's the same principle that took Mayweather's 700k to 1m PPVs and Pac's 350k to 700k (whatever they were at the time) and turned them into 4.6million.

I hope you're right! That would be crazy numbers, and prove that GGG deserved at least 30% of the split if they hit so high.

I'd say that everybody that tuned in for Chavez jr will now tune in for Canelo. So yea, 1 mil + 97k

                  1.1 million
