Joe Calzaghe is one of the fastest hitters i know from the super middle weight devision.
joes style is so difficult. tarver cant beat him. i can see tarver getting cornered and then pressured till they stop the fight.
if tarver uses his head, then hes gonna lose by DQ
Joe is fast, and so was Roy.
Tarver's style is every bit as difficult as Joe's. Niether is used to facng southpaws, and Joe has never faced anyone with Tarver's combo of southpaw style and power.
I'm pretty confident he is going to beat hopkins, then he should go on and fight calzaghe and stay away from bell. if he were to beat clazaghe, which may happen considering calzaghe would be new at LH that would give him a GREAT resume. unfortunately all of his important victories can be downplayed, even if he went on to beat calzaghe.
Roy Jones jr.: roy was shot by the time tarver faced him, coming back down from HW and his diminished reflexes beat him, not tarver
Glen Johnson: Johnson is a journeyman who just beat a shot Roy Jones, and it took him 2 tries to beat him.
Hopkins(assuming he wins): hopkins was a career middleweight who moved up 2 weight division after so many years, coming off of 2 losses, so he was out of his comfortable weight limit and old.
Calzaghe: career super middle, same argument as hopkins. but also unproven in the eyes of many only beaten a green Jeff Lacy.
i would be impressed with tarver but he needs to fight someone who is completely proven and in his prime, maybe wait a bit to fight bell so bell can be more recognized.
btw i dont agree with all the arguments above.
i dont know why i wrote all that either ive never really given a **** about tarver, i was just thinking about what his career and legacy would end up like.
