How did Wlad hold onto all those belts in his long reign, without getting stripped?

Fury got almost instantly stripped of the IBF for planning to rematch (contract binding) wlad and apparently Joshua would lose a belt if he rematches wlad and doesnt fight Pulev, his mando

So how the hell did wlad keep all those governing bodies happy, and for so long, without getting stripped by any of the g bodies?

    WBO, WBA, Ring, IBO, IBF

    How?????????? Secret pay offs?

Will be interesting to see if the IBF strip Joshua if he fights the Klitschko rematch. They should if following their rules.

Here is the reason he was never stripped. I am glad he wasn't. He was a good champion who fought all worthy contender.

There hasn't really been anyone that could challenge him so he just fought his mandatorys most of the time.

I think the problem was that Fury agreed to a rematch clause even though you don't need to when you are mandatory so then once he beat Wlad he was tied down to a rematch and the new mandatory.

It's messed up though because it's common for a rematch to take place when a favourite loses, especially after a long reign so the IBF should've been more lenient.

Fury was the WBO mandatory and had a guaranteed title shot with NO REMATCH CLAUSE. He chose to voluntarily sell a rematch clause to Klitschko, even though he knew he'd have to give up the IBF belt to do so. That was his choice. Klitschko was able to keep the titles together because he wouldn't have made a choice like that.

The IBO is not a recognized world title and doesn't have mandatories. Ring is a magazine owned by Oscar De La Hoya and does whatever HBO wants. Wladimir was WBA super champion, which meant almost never having to face a mandatory.

Which just leaves the IBF & WBO and Wladimir simply faced his mandatories as they arose. Keeping the titles unified is very easy. Fighters just choose not to do it because they'd rather hang on to one belt than taking on all comers and risking losing and having no belts.
