As it draws close I'm leaning towards Spence handing Brook a beatdown

Yeah, I just remember reading in articles and hearing analysts, commentators, etc... mention that because of the size of Middleweights where they were big enough to hurt people and fast enough to dazzle. They called it the in between division of Heavyweight and Welterweight. Where they hit hard and were as fast as welterweights. And they regarded Middleweight as the 2nd most prestigous division. Historically speaking of course.

Actually today all 3 divisions are doing well with Welterweight being the most stacked.

When these 3 historic divisions thrive, boxing does really well. So here's hoping Heavyweight, Middleweight and Welterweight continue to thrive and showcase great fights for the sports world.

I would add ODH as well, who had 5 of his most significant fights-Quartey, Tito, Sweet Pea, Mosley and Chavez 2 at ww.

I think the fact that the 4 biggest non HWT stars of the sport since 1980 had their biggest wins (except SRL/Hagler) at WW shifted things a bit.

Spence takes this win and the belt back across the pond.. Brook doesn't have the tools to win and it will be devastating to his fans in his home town to see him lose.. Spence in 9 is what I predict.. It will be close but Spence opens him up by the 8th and finishes him in the 9th..

We're getting some great fights this year. How do you get this on TV in the U.S.? I know, I know, I'll Google it.

Spence most definitely is not another Jeff Lacy, he's much better than that. But is he as good as he and his team think he is? If he is, we're going to see a great 50/50 fight .. if he isn't, young Errol is going to be force fed chocolate brownies all night in front of 30k rabid UK fans, and he will never be the same again afterwards!

War Special K! Get them brownies cooking lad!

He was. He moved up to fight G so he could put off Spence. Then he tried tooth and nail to get a fight with Khan or Pac so he could say he was vacating for a bigger fight and more money. What else is Brook going to do now???

All of this talk about Brook moving to 154, leaves out one important detail- he can't beat the best at 154! Lara, Andrade, Charlo all beat him. And none of them have the name or aurora of Spence. Brook realized this and realized he can get 75% of the purse and have it take place, literally, in his hometown. Brook has everything in his favor, this is his best chance, and his only real option. There are still chances at WW after losing to Spence. There is still Khan, there is still the pipe-dream of Pac, there is Thurman, there is a rematch with Porter. All are bigger paydays than Lara, Andrade, or Charlo. If Brook has to move up because he can no longer make weight, his career is pretty much over. The best he can hope for at 154 is being a gatekeeper for an ignored division void of big names. Brook was ducking Spence, but Haymon moved Spence up the rankings to become Brook's mandatory, knowing full well Spence would have to take the title from him in England. Now Brook really doesn't have any options.

Khan should be thanked for this fight happening.

He told Brook he would not fight him until AFTER he fought Spence...up until then...Brook was stalking Khan and putting off Spence.

Have always said he had no choice but to take this fight, he was backed into a corner in the end, Khan wanted 70% and going to 154 would have been suicidal for less money than at 147. In the end am glad he took the fight.

Thats the Spence hype train talking. Spence is Michael Grant jr. All built up on weak minded african american casuals who buy into the Haymon tmt model. Spread a lie big enough and the weakest people will believe it.
