Comments Thread For: Spence's Coach: We Have To Beat Brook Up, Round After Round

Derrick James, trainer of undefeated Olympian Errol Spence (21-0, 18 KOs), says his boxer must dominate the rounds in order unseat IBF world champion Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs) in his backyard. Spence will collide with Brook on May 27th in the champion's home venue, at Bramall Lane, in Sheffield. The venue will be packed with fans who are going to cheer on the hometown hero - which obviously could influence the judges to score the rounds for the home fighter.

Question is How will Spence react when he gets hit clean with 8oz gloves and no headguard... If he can take the shots well then could be a very close tough fight... Comes down to whos the better technician

Spence is a much better technician. Brook is solid, but he makes some subtle mistakes that led to him losing. I'll say this again, he didn't lose to GGG because of size he lost because of SKILL.

I agree though, if Spence can take Brook's speed and punch, he's going to drown his ass in deep water. Easier said than done though.

A better question is how Brook will respond.

Kell's corner won't have a chance to throw in the towel in this fight.

Brook couldn't make it by Carson Jones without getting all busted up.

They don't realize what's coming their way.

Spence is one of the best punchers in the game.
Always set to punch...perfect balance...great awareness...

....and a work ethic that puts even the hardest workers to shame.

"He just has to keep winning each round, that’s all he has to do."

Gee, we never thought of that! LOL

Spence is definitely talented, but he's taken a big leap into something he may find himself too deep into, and could likely drown. Fans can talk all day about Brook being slower, less powerful, makes mistakes... and I can always appreciate some critiques to a degree, but from what I've seen of both, this is a Brook 55/45 fight. I'm looking at Brook's experience edge, plus I don't think Spence has more speed or power. I think it's pretty close TBH.

And as for Charlo, I certainly don't see him beating Brook. Not now at least.

I'm 50-50 with this fight. Kell Brook proves he can box against elite opponent but Spence is very good skilled fighter too.

I favor Kell a little bit here because he's more proven
