I'd agree he's improved with his talking with the media, but idk what happened with the face off thing they just did or were trying to do which seemed like a great opportunity for Ward to continue on that road.

Randomly whats the rest of the story with that Face Off? Why didn't Ward show up? Is there something else going on there or some confusion that I missed? Or did they end up doing it or will be doing it at another date? Or was that fake news lol?

because alot of it involved their heros/hopes
Idk about that. Personally I've never a big fan of the 168lb division where Ward spent most of his career so far. Its still a bit of a bastard division to me since I was just becoming a boxing fan at its birth in the late 80's. I did enjoy Nigel Benn & Gerald McClellan & some of those 90's guys at 168, but beyond that I've never much been THAT invested in anyone or anything that goes on in that division. And right now I'm actually more interested in Ward's career in a more historically important division & he's just giving me no reason to give a f#ck about him outside of his an American gold medal winner & his manager is a gangster.

Respect to Ward's talent doe. I got no problem with his talent, but for me its a not so exciting style cuz for me there is a difference between what Floyd does which I like & what a guy like Bhop does (& Ward) that I don't enjoy nearly as much.

Umm what? Ward doesn't even consider himself PFP #1...he's always said it was "the master" Floyd and now he says it's Rigo...so where is this envy coming from??

I mean I can understand why you could see it that way, but the reality is the media will show a bias towards anything that's getting people's attention or they think will get peoples attention.

And the way GGG talks is kinda hilarious + he's more entertaining to watch then most other fighters. I mean granted I've noticed him trying to milk it more in the last couple years cuz he's not a ****** guy, but at one point it was just sh^t he was naturally saying with no idea how that spaghetti would stick to the wall it just so happened to stick.

Honestly I think many of the problems with Ward are problems with Kovalev. Kathy is trying to make Kovalev some US success story or something when he looks like & acts like kinda a ****. Neither guy is all that likeable & if you are purely into boxing then that's fair I'm gonna watch if they get even more boring.

The reality doe is these dummies need to drum up some f#cking attention cuz they've gotten to a point in their career where their promoters are trying to sell them to a bigger audience, but Main Events gots a pitbull they are trying to dress up in a lil doggie business suit & Roc Nation gots a stuck up Westminster winning poodle that doesn't wanna lower himself to selling himself to the masses.

I actually see the media framing the fascination with Golovkin and the people following the narrative. Once you start highlighting a boxers KO prowess naturally the people will become interested. We saw the same thing with Mike Tyson back in the day. The media kept going on about the young phenom long before he faced anyone meaningful. Then when the KOs stopped coming the media said it was a ***** in his armor. The same scenario is being played out with Golovkin as we speak. If a Canelo lasts 12 rounds win or lose the narrative will continue.

Ward sounds like he's bitter when he points things out but there's some truth there.

My issue would be all these fa.gs clamouring to drool on GGG's **** and if Ward beat him they'd still deny Ward the kudos they attribute GGG.

It's simple really, they just don't wanna see another American or black man on top of the sport again, this place is a racist shyt hole.

Again I'd say that's what the media does doe. And if people & fans follow the narrative that they enjoy reading about then it is what it is.

I don't think Ward is onto any sorta hidden or unrealized truth no one else seems to understand. People like mfers who can KTFO of other mfers. And if you got a funny voice its all the better. There is always "GGG" like story's going on. Tyson, Manny, there are always guys regionally getting regional attention. That's a fun ass story that people will read over & over again from childhood til dementia.

The media follows those guys up & then down & everyone gots a down its not just GGG (Ward will have a down to just less people will care about it cuz he's not as interesting a guy in most peoples minds). "The media" is hoping he murders his wife or goes broke at some point too I'd imagine cuz that keeps the story going.

You're defending the status quo too casually. Let's make it easier, since media influences readers or watchers, why hasn't there been more Max Kellerman types in a Dan Rafael to head on ask GGG about Ward? Forget the future, this fight will never happen, but how come Dan never wrote about it to question Gennady's p4p ambition?

It's a safe question and good a debate for our sport. Why did people get so sensitive about Ward vs GGG, yet get heated when a down souther (nelo) in weights makes promises to boxing fans to go up in 1-2 years time, but still gets hammered vs a guy who has been mocking the integrity of competitive challenges ala 154-168 is easy?

It's one of boxing's most direct double standards that Gandolf the Great gives permission to troll the fanboys
