Comments Thread For: Canelo vs. Golovkin: Will The IBF World Title Be at Stake?

While Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) owns the WBC, WBA, IBO and IBF belts, it's not exactly clear which belts Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez will actually compete for on the night of September 16th. He's made his disdain for the WBC very clear. Many wonder if he will participate in the morning-of weigh-in the IBF (where the combatants are unable to come in more than ten pounds over the weight limit).

It would favor Canelo more if he fought for the IBF since he's younger and can lose/gain weight better and faster. But in the end they are both going to weigh around 172ish

These clowns are so used to hypeing up gigi & his 3 gifted vacant paper titles, that their now adding belts hes yet to be gifted, they even add ibo as if thats a real title. As Ive always told those gggroupies on here,Canelo is the lineal champ & can care less who enters with gifted titles,it only matters who leaves with them.

I wouldn't be surprised if GGG blew the belts off at this point. He has his payday with Canelo and Ward is very safe two two divisions away. So now Gennady can drop the whole "all the belts" farce. Everybody knows the whole "I wanna unify" crap was nothing but an excuse to wiggle outta the whole "anybody from 154-168" talk once big bad Ward came calling. And it was an excuse to sit and feast on a weak division while waiting and hoping guys from lower divisions like Floyd and Canelo would eventually come up and fight him.

Get it right Kim, Saunders owns the WBO middleweight paper title.

****** F ing post. So even though pretty much every boxer in every division has the goal to unify all the belts in their weight class, if GGG wants to do it, then it's a farce. I agree he ran his mouth too much about the anyone from 154 to 168, and then didn't back it up, but you're spouting bias BS.
