Smh at least two of these guys are Hispanic/Latino (non-black)

A lot of you posters confuse objectivity with racial bias. Just because they support some black fighters don't make them black.

What's more, of all the contenders Stevenson could've fought, Fonfara is arguably the least deserving AND Adonis' camp paid a step aside fee to his mando to make it happen

His team is completely full of **** which is a shame as he is an exciting fighter IMO
look when u're the champ and u offer a guy 30% and he doesnt take it...u did your job imo...if not he can wait until purse bid and get 5% less..

his team was full of **** when he stayed in the purse bid and kov left i guess? his team was full of crap when they still tried to work with duva to make that fight right?

pascal just admited that stevenson offered him a fight years ago and he turned it down...I'VE BEEN TELLING PPL THIS LONG AGO..champs owe challengers nothing bro..challenger shave to dethrown them and want their belt and money.

purse bid gets him 25%..if he wont take 30% he did price himself out..simple as that..pascal just admited he'll take the 30% from stevneson now but he was too much of a big mouth to back then..look where that got him..ON AN UNDERCARD JUST LIKE JOE SMITH.

btw the step aside fee had been the plan every since the mando elected to fight bute..a fight with smith would have needed step aside money to be paid as well so that is irrelevant...alravez last fight date was way to close to fight on april 29..the initial date

fonfara is a damn good fight..taller than stevenson and the first and only person to knock him down at 175..he just dealt witha dawson that turned back the clock for one night and he ko'd him late...the smith ko is a fluke imo and fonfara beats him easy in a rematch..he made a mistake it's not like he took some career changing beating..got caught and knows the adjustment to make..simple

Good fight. Blue collar Joe and Barerra are bad ass additions to the light heavyweight scene.

Sorry i do not see this as a 50/50 fight.

Barrera is leaps and bounds better and more proven than Joe.

As long as he respects Joe's power and does not get drawn into a fire fight I believe he may make easy work of Joe.

On the other hand if Joe can somehow pull this off a lot more people will sit up an take notice.

I hope both fighters are getting paid handsomely by HBO 'cos unless it leads to a title shot, this is potentially career suicide for who ever loses this one!

Ya the great white Hope/Hype dies here. Smith definitely has the power, but he is nowhere near the boxer Barrera is.

Barrera would be smart to start cautious and work off the jab. He can pick this guy apart and win a slow but eventful fight by just boxing
