How many really great fighters with long successful careers were in the habit of starving themselves to near death for weight advantages?
Not a rhetorical question. Wondering off someone knows some history on the subject and when this really became the norm.Comment

That is a really good question, but a tough one to answer because most boxers do not routinely volunteer that information. An indirect way might be to figure out which boxers gain the most between the weigh-in and fight time -- both percentage and absolute weight. Arturo Gatti comes to mind, but there are many others.Comment

Chavez Jr and Canelo are both notorious for starving themselves to have a weight advantage. Which is why I posted the question in a thread about a fight between the two of them.
What part is confusing or upsetting you?Last edited by ////; 05-12-2017, 07:12 AM.Comment
