Canelo's defense allow him to barely get hit, therefore we can't really gauge. GGG is always getting hit with something big and seems to take it fairly well. Although I didn't like how he reacted to the Brook attack, who's a welterweight who didn't even have devastating power at 147. But other than that, even though GGG takes a lot of hits, he takes them well. Canelo doesn't take them at all because they don't land enough on him and he blocks very well.

Who has a better chin? Canelo or Golovkin

Canelo got pushed back by Lopez and was hurt in the first round by Kirkland.
Canelo is a good counter puncher with accuracy and was able to stop further attacks, he don't have the legs to move out of the way.
The only way I see him winning the fight agains G is that his counters slows G's attack

But that was in 2010 I believe so we can't look into it too deep.

Floyd Mayweather displayed the ability to make Canelo Alvarez weary, with his punching power! I highly doubt that Mayweather's punching power would have the same effect upon Golovkin! (But i understand that Canelo Alavarez's physiological durability may have improved as he has moved in weight!)...

Depends if we're judging their chins in a P4P sense or as middleweights. Keep in mind, a boxers chin or punch resistance in a lower weight class doesn't by default translate when they step up in weight. A boxer might prove to have a top notch chin without ever getting knocked out. However, there's every chance their chin doesn't hold up against heavier opponents with more punching power. Of course, there are exceptions like Evander Holyfield who carried his chin up in weight. However, that's an exception and not the rule!
In terms of their chins as middleweights, this is very easy to answer. Since Canelo Alvarez is yet to have a single fight at 160 pounds against any middleweight (excluding his fight at 164 against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr), by default, GGG has the more proven chin at middleweight. So since GGG has the better chin as a middleweight, his chin is proven to be better in an OVERALL sense too since a tough chinned boxer from a heavier division will have an even better chin than a tough chinned boxer from a lighter division
However, in a P4P sense, I don't know and I really don't care much! GGG has more frequently fought opponents his own size or bigger / heavier and is still yet to be knocked down. Canelo Alvarez has fought opponents at catch weight whilst having the significant weight advantage more frequently and is yet to be knocked down. So who is better? Easily GGG! Why? Because it's more impressive to be able to take punches from opponents your own size or heavier than it is to take punches from lighter opponents. That's just the way it is!Last edited by Mr Objecitivity; 05-13-2017, 06:09 AM.
