    Calzaghe and Lomachenko?

Do you guys think they fight similarly?

They are both southpaws, fast, agile, throw a lot of punches and swarm their opponents. Loma so far has shown better defense and fundamentals but I feel like their style of fighting is very similar.

I was discussing Loma with one of my friends last weekend while watching the Canelo - Chavez. He made the same comparison. They do share some similarities. I think Loma is more technically sound all around. Calzaghe relied more on being unorthodox and awkward. Calzaghe's punches were weird. Slappy no doubt. I think Loma is the much more complete fighter though.

No. Loma is somewhat crafted differently. More like a combination of Pacquiao foot work and offense with the technicality of Marquez and the defensive stature of Mayweather. Don't know about Joe though. I don't watch his fights and I'm not a fan of his.

To the eye, their styles look very different, but they have some of the same components. Joe moved laterally a lot, controlled distance masterfully, had tremendous output, peppered a lot of light shots with hard ones snuck in there. Loma's technique is far more aesthetically pleasing. His form tighter. I know people will freak out about this but; I don't think Loma is all that much better defensively. A bit, yes, but I think a lot of that that has to do with size and competition. Tiny guys are always going to be quicker but it's not like Loma hasn't been hit.

To me, the biggest similarities are that they are going to control range, pepper you with punches, and be gone when you go to throw back, over and over and over.

Yes, I'd say they are definitely similar. Loma turns opponents better though I believe.

I believe Calzaghe has better footwork and control of range. He never seemed 2 reach or be out of range 2 return fire. Loma is a better combo/body puncher. Very quick and uses angles well. Loma reminds me of a more defensive minded Valero. But, Calzaghe his a mirror of Loma or vice versa
