Felix Diaz's promoter merely argued Thursday that the undefeated WBC/WBO super lightweight champion's prominent place in boxing isn't built on an overly impressive resume. I think this will be a fight of the year candidate. Diaz said don't worry about the money just get me the fight. He's coming to win not for a check. I still think Crawford will pull it out but this is gonna be a good fight.

Diaz is tailor made for Crawford. He comes forward and trys to overwhelm you. Those guys get countered to death by Crawford and add to the fact that Diaz is way shorter than Crawford, I see Crawford KO Diaz within 6.

Agreed Crawford has been feasting on smaller guys ever since 135. The one exception is Postol but Postol is one of the slowest "top fighters" in the world and Crawford is one of the fastest. Styles make fights. Plus, who has Postol beaten? He was losing to Matthysse until he busted Matthysse's eye. Good for him but he didn't create that injury, he reinjured it. Same eye as Garcia injured. So I'm not that impressed.

I don't think Crawford should have to move up, but I do think he look for the best fights. Whether that means bringing Mikey Garcia up from 135, or going up to 147 to fight Spence or Thurman, that's what I'd like to see.

As for this matchup, Crawford is bigger, faster, and taller fighting a short guy who doesn't have a lot of knockout power. So basically if you think Crawford is going to lose, you're picking a small slower guy to outbox a longer faster guy. And the smaller slower guy has less power...

The only way I can see Diaz winning is if this level of competition shows us Crawford is more athletic freak than boxer, and he can get outboxed by a true technician even despite having all the advantages over him. Think Lomachenko outboxing Russell even though Russell was probably faster. Of course, I think Lomachenko is taller, longer, and more powerful than Russell so it's not really the same.

That's the only way i can see it. Or maybe Crawford can't handle the inside pressure against someone who can take his punch. But who says Diaz can take his punch? Or, maybe Diaz just keeps it competitive but wears out Crawford to the body and Crawford tires. So there are ways Diaz can win, but physically everything is stacked against him. I got Crawford by UD if Diaz has a good chin, KO if he doesn't.

No benefit lol? He has to build his name and credibility in boxing in order to make fans outside of Omaha so he brings something to a big fight, otherwise he'll just be stagnant in boxing. Unless TC wanted to become the next Adonis Stevenson in boxing, i think he absolutely benefits from fighting B+ level guys like this instead D-level guys like his last fight. And I hope if he beats this guy, he starts fighting some prime A-level guys soon. Otherwise he's never going to jump GGG, Kovalev, Lomachenko, and Chocolatito on the pound for pound list.
