Comments Thread For: UFC's White Sets Deadline on Mayweather vs. McGregor Fight

UFC President Dana White is hoping to finalize one portion of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor deal by this coming Sunday. If White is unable to get a deal done with McGregor (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) by Sunday, he plans to move forward in another direction with the MMA superstar. If he's able to reach an agreement with McGregor, then White will begin negotiations with Mayweather (49-0, 26 KOs) and his team on Monday.

Money talks - White is a sideshow in this deal, and people are fools if they think he controls where this is going.

A habitual liar who overplays his influence is good for comedy and not much else.

      Move along, Dana.

only way this fight gets made is if conor bend over and agree to everything from floyd. because knowing floyd, he will not move an inch for conor.

UFC will be the only real promoter in this fight.

White acts like if he was any say when and where the fight will take place. UFC isn't in charge and they ain't going to be promoting any boxing event so for him to say he was trying to stage the fight on Sept. 16 is ludicrous. Only thing White will be doing is negotiating whatever split he will be taking from Conor when Floyd offers him money for the fight.

Only reason I wanted this to go thru would have been to see the circus it would become...
Would it be a split Boxing & UFC fights on the same day.

Didn't he say a month ago or so that Conor's side was already locked up just needed Mayweather? Now it's we have to get Conor's deal done then Mayweather?

Mayweather Promotions will certainly have a part in this - no chance in hell Floyd signs over promotional control to the boss of his opponent. This is the perfect segway for Floyd into his business after fighting.

Nonetheless, while the UFC will have a big part to play in it, the key here is that it will be the UFC, not Dana. Just sayin' - Dana is a mouthpiece. A character.
