If Golovkin Were Younger, Could He Beat Canelo in Sept?

By the way, before anybody says ''gosssh you're obsessed with Golovkin...'' just keep in mind that when there's consistent context involving another fighter such responses come off as oxymoronic...

Furthermore & more importantly, would a let's say 28-29 year old Golovkin beat the Alvarez come Sept. 2017? Look at his highlights in those years, or if you want, look at his fights when he started pro. Can any form of that Golovkin beat the Alvarez come Sept. 2017?

So was ''he's waiting for him to get older'' = 497 days from Khan to Sept. 2017?

Is that enough to say ''If Alvarez fought Golovkin in May 2016 he would've loss?''

Or was the ''...to get old'' theory an expectation that Alvarez would delay the fight in a May vs Pac esque?

If Golovkin had agreed to 155 or any other negotiable catch, because according to K2 and Abel, they would not budge from 160, but assuming if Golovkin did take the fight, could he have beaten Alvarez at 155-159 in May of 2016?

What was K2's expectation in receiving step aside fees from Martinez to Cotto? Did Alvarez end up having the debt or burden for K2 wanting the WBC, but not necessarily wanting Alvarez? If he wanted Alvarez, then in theory he would'Ve done a catch, correct? To prove, as he and Abel said, that 154-168 is easy to make?

Seems like the Ginger has been acquitted by failed fan theory.

      Great question, actually.
Personally, I think Golovkin's experience in the last couple fights makes up for anything he lost in age. The garbage fighters he was fighting before would have left him unprepared for Canelo.

I'm not even entirely decided on who wins right now but I'm leaning toward Canelo a bit. I think he has the tools win this, so long as he stays off the ropes. I just don't know if we can trust him to do that.

You know a some of these fickle fans are worst than an expert witness in legal case. They will say anything to make their case. Golovkin at 35 is too old for Canelo but Mayweather at 36 took advantage of a green Canelo. No one said Mayweather was too old. They'll say Golovkin is no longer prime but they'll go crazy over Kovalev beating an ancient Bernard Hopkins.

Was ggg at 26 better than canelo is right now??
Could canelo at 35 be a better fighter than ggg ??
Is a shame we didnt get this 2 within the same timeline, we could ended up with a rivalry of 3 or 4 fights at a high level, maybe similar to pac-marquez...

Golovkin at 35 is not too old, but he is old. There's nothing to dispute. Matthysse is 35. Cotto is retiring at 35. Floyd at 36 was old, but his style made him not age as quick. Defense first fighters always last longer than brawlers or guys that rely on speed.

Mayweather did not take advantage of green Canelo, but Canelo was not ready since he was 22 at the time. 22 is a growing, inexperienced man. 26 is a fighter entering his prime. Comparing ggg/Canelo to Floyd/Canelo is silly.

And yes, I've always made fun of people talking up Kovalev's resume since his best win was 48 years old. It never made sense to me.

what happened in NSB that the perception of GGG-Canelo has changed so dramatically? so drastically? seriously? last year canelo dumped the WBC belt and everybody was saying how GGG was gonna beat him to a pulp in hipotetical match up. now canelo, all of the sudden, will out box GGG? i can't see that happening, not with those slow feet. i can only see GGG hammering him down with his jab while breaking him down in the process.
