Wilder used mandatories as an excuse way back in 2014 as a reason not to fight Wlad...he HASNT fought ONE mandatory yet? Seems like he wants everyone to believe now that he is the one you need to defeat and in the states????

Unless the opponents have a doppleganger that Joshua knocks out in his territory i dont see where or why it matters that it has to be on U.s soil? He is knocking out the same guys he right? If he knocks out Parker in the U.K does that mean he has to do it again in the states?

I think he should fight here and elsewhere but not bc he needs to prove himself more for notoriety...

He's right. Selling out Wembley won't make anywhere near the $ as selling 2mm PPVs in the US. Not to mention the athletic apparel and endorsement opportunities.

Now of course Wilder needs to increase his own profile but with a dance partner he and Joshua can be household names and make MASSIVE $

Do people in the U.K. Not wear the same gear as us in the U.S.? I'm sure he will and has already gotten endorsement deals. He just did 90,000 tickets and 1.5 million buys on PPV which is about 500,000 here at our prices... Are you insinuating that Joshua vs Wilder does 2 million buys here? Gotta be kidding me.... It's more like Wilder better pack his bags and go over there and fight him if he wants to make that big money

It's not the 90's or 00's anymore. UK fighters don't have to "make it" in other countries anymore. Wilder needs to make it himself anyway.

            Disagree.

Wilder needs to make it over here, and over there. Obviously if he had the same status as Joshua over there then Joshua would pack his bags in an instant but he doesn't. And I doubt he will be given the platform to do so.

He has potential foes over here not named Joshua to build his star. And his star does need building because at the minute he seems like a kid who has taken a shortcut in a cross-country run and is trying to spring home for the win. Him intimating he has equal status with AJ/Wlad or even Fury doesn't make it so, imo.

I suppose AJ could fight him next but it is not the most interesting fight he could take.

Wilder is only responding to AJ's "I don't have to fight in the USA" comment. To be a HW champion that's comparable to fellow Brit, Lewis, then he has to leave his comfort zone and leave merry old England and fight in the USA. Until then, he's just a Calazaghe.

loool beat me to it, I swear some american people live in a box... we have beats, nike and under armour stuff for sale in our shops too. Joshua is in an ad every time I watch a football game on Skysports.

There's no point angling for a US location when both guys will make far more money in the UK. Joshua doesn't need to make it in the US especially when there's only one viable american opponent in the form of Wilder. Every fight he'd have in the US would be a waste when he'd be making way more back home.... and LMAO at 2 million US PPV buys.... just loooooool

He really doesn't have to. With the division being desolate for years it's not like there were huge HW fights taking place in the U. S. With the kind of success they had with the Klitschko fight, Joshua is in the driver's seat. Where he goes the division goes.

You're living in the past, the boxing world does not revolve around the USA anymore..... Joshua seems to getting more than enough recognition in merry old England.

Wilder might want to fly over here and start fighting because he's struggling to build up a fan base in the USA as it is, he'd probably get way more exposure fighting on UK undercards than headlining in Alabama.

It doesn't have to be the US, but a HW fighter that only fights in his country is never going to be an international sports figure. Fight in Japan, Tyson did..twice.
