How do you think Canelo would have fared against Trinidad at 160?

In terms of the fight, tough to call at this stage. I think the GGG fight will tell us more about Canelo. It might sound strange because Canelo has mixed it with top level guys already, but its probably a bit early in his career to get a read on a fight like this, he hasn't quite fought anyone like Trinidad.

I think the GGG fight has relevance because its the first time Canelo has fought someone who has elite KO power at Middleweight. Also maybe down the line if he fights someone like the Charlo's who are tall athletic power boxers, these types of fights would give you good indicators on how Canelo does against Tito.

If you pushed me for a prediction today, I would say this fight goes to a decision, both guys could potentially hit the deck and I expect Canelo to just edge Tito out to a narrow decision, I think he's naturally bigger, a little stronger, and good enough defensively to not get hit with something silly.
Good points ,but IMO Tito is not like Charlo ,Tito is leaning in fight forward,Canelo fought with Lara and Trout ,this guys more like Charlo imo.

fair point Canelo never fought guy like Tito ,but same way with Tito he never fought Tank like Alvarez ,He fought DLH(in 154) but Oscar is not like Canelo ,Whitaker too ,Hopkins is diffrent too ,IMO Canelo style and Weight (big MW) would counter Tito perfectly ,Imo DLH would be much tougher match up for Nelo.

Can't rate Canelo with his last 3 wins, the aging Cotto was more indicative of what type of fighter that Canelo is which is a counter puncher with good defense.

I see the fight as Canelo getting ahead and start losing the fight at the middle rounds. Only good boxers beat Trinidad and Canelo legs makes him far from a boxer

Like I've posted in the past Didn't Tito have Winky Wright Problems. Low Blows that's how Tito would of handled Connello but whose to say Connello wouldn't have hit Tito right back in the balls that's fucin with someones man hood.

Boxing is much more then legs ,Canelo is moveing smart and put himself in good positions ,you dont need to be like Ali or Oscar to be top fighter and Great boxer.I daubt Canelo would be runnin from Tito ,he would take him in the pocket.

Trinidad was an A Level fighter who was extremely quick, accurate, high workrate, and he didn't tire. Canelo has NEVER faced such a violent and DEADLY finisher as Tito. He will in September against GGG, whom I think he beats via decision.

In conclusion, the jury is still out on my boy Canelo, before he reaches the A Level of the sport. Now, if he beats GGG like I think he should, he will then be an A Level fighter. He is a B+ Level fighter at the moment. There are a lot of fighters that Canelo could've beaten though. The kid is the truth. He would've beaten Fernando Vargas at 154lbs. Winky Wright at 154lbs. Prime Shane at 154lbs. Terry Norris at 154lbs.
Trinidad repeatedly throughout his career got dropped by c level fighters and journeyman. Canelo and GGG both destroy tito.

Trinidad wasn't a middleweight fighter, while Alvarez might be.

Trinidad was really good, but his skills didn't really carry through for him at middleweight.

Alvarez is 27 years old, fought 140/147lbs for his learning fights, settled in at ~154lbs for the bulk of his development (from 21 through 27, as his body filled out), and is now going to 160lbs (the weight I see him fighting out the rest of his prime at), before making the possible move to 168lbs (taking a step similar to Trinidad's, when he moved up from 154lbs).

Trinidad was my favorite fighter when he was in his prime and Canelo is my favorite fighter today. I don't want to give either of them a loss so I'll say the fight would be a vicious war of a draw. Trinidad was at his best at 154 and not a full middleweight although 6 pounds is no big deal to a great fighter.
