Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: Parker's Limitations Were Exposed, Fury Will Win

What a shame our man Hughie Fury sustained the untimely back injury that prevented him making the trip to New Zealand to challenge for the WBO world heavyweight title held by Joseph Parker. Had he stayed fit I am convinced we would now still be celebrating a new heavyweight champion and the second from the Fury family.

I suspect that Warren heard about Parker's promoter, Duco, being on the verge of collapse, and Hughie's "injury" was a reset button he could push to start the game over .. and this time, Warren wins the purse bid and brings the fight to the UK.

I don't think Parker will be too upset about that. The fight will make more money over here and the UK is where it's at for HW boxers right now.

Better make that call Wilder and Haymon to the wbo so you can unify the belts before you waste more time waiting for bums to sort things out for you.

More fools coming out of the wood works..Joshua gets knocked down by one of the most powerful punchers,so EVERYONE found a weakness? Now Parker wins every rnd to his sparring partner so hughie who cant even punch is going to dominate him???

Parker is like a poor man's Holyfield. I feel for him, he has the tools, but is underpowered for the current HW division.

Time will tell but I think the Furry boxing legacy may well have already run its course...though they may well keep talking to the end of time

This is absolutely spot on. Warren & Co saw an opportunity to wriggle out of going to NZ and fighting Parker on his home soil - after all, leading into the purse bid, there's no way they would have considered they would lose it.

The fight draws bigger money in the UK, and Hughie has a better chance of winning that belt at home. It's pretty scummy stuff - they lost the purse bid fair and square, and have proceeded to lie and continue lying as a means to get out of it.

Shouldn't have expected much better from Warren and the Fury's though - black marks on the sport.
