Comments Thread For: UFC's White Happy Canelo-GGG is Done, Despite Losing "The Date"

UFC President Dana White joined Colin Cowherd on The Herd ahead of UFC 211 this weekend in Dallas. White stated during the interview that he was unable to finalize a deal in time for a proposed cross-sports boxing match between retired former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather and UFC superstar Conor McGregor - and as a result he lost his target date of September 16th to Saul "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin.

If he really had "the date" he would have reserved a venue with the Nevada Commission

Yeah he does he was at the fight and said he will be at the canelo/ggg fight too. I just hate when UFC insecure fans and reporters ask him questions to take a side or shyt on boxing. If you like UFC cool if you like boxing cool. But they different sports. I feel like UFC fans have to constantly mentioned boxing and take digs. I've never once gone out my way MMA websites to talk shyt to those fans both sports can exist and prosper.

Agreed. Dana might be one of the more disappointed fans because of the recent fights but is making up for the ggg canelo.

I like Dana a lot in interviews when his ego is in check.

He didn't have sshhttt going , he wasn't even close to anything, if it would of happen we all know mayweather would be the A side and get a big pay day ,UFC is not used to paying or seeing numbers like what mayweather wants and earns .

If Canelo-Golovkin ends up at Cowboy stadium or anywhere other than Vegas (long shot), they could counter-program with Mayweather-McGregor on the same date at T-Mobile. 95% of the mainstream media would be covering the latter fight more. Canelo-Golovkin would be forced off the date lol.

Not saying this should be done, only that it's one possible scenario. Bottom line, Mayweather-McGregor IF it gets made can have any date it wants.
