It only helps if your a body builder,even steroids dont help when your pure fast twitch muscle like wc fighters are that need to make weight & already have it hard enough,imagine adding extra muscle with roids,that only helps featherfisted light fighters who are skinny not canelo whos a tank,roids help athletes like olympians because they dont have weigh ins,

fighters like canelo would need to starve if he added a lot of muscle.very few fighters below heavyweight get caught with roids & even then in all divisions stimulants are far more prevalent than roids as losing weight with drugs is the most common reason to cheat if they're indisciplined fighters who cant make weight.
Nowadays the most common thing in sports is to be a legal cheat where you claim you have adhd & your allowed to take pharmaceutical meth,like most u.s. & british Olympians,what a coincidence that almost all the us Olympians have claimed to have adhd from childhood & are almost all on amphetamines which is the best cheat drug in most sports. The coaches tell the family to get their child "diagnosed" early & then they have a free pass to cheat for life, they're even on prescription meth during competition due to having T.U.E. the****utic use exemption. Canelo Alvarez isn't playing any weight games regarding weight gains in his showdown with Gennady Golovkin. Oscar De La Hoya confirmed during an interview Tuesday on ESPN's "First Take" that the contracted weight limit for their long-awaited fight is the middleweight limit of 160 pounds. De La Hoya, Alvarez's promoter, also said there aren't any rehydration clauses in the contracts that would limit either fighter from gain a specific amount of pounds following an official weigh-in September 15.

The weight situation is working out perfect for Golovkin. If Canelo drops 4.5 pounds of muscle mass over the next couple months he will be weaker and/or if Canelo tries to drop some new world record of weight for this fight he will look like Chavez Jr did in there fight and be annihilated by Golovkin. Golovkin will be following the same equation he has his entire career.
