A decent match-up that could go either way depending on which fighter brings his A-game.

Depends which fighters turn up. Flanagan can look really good in fights then sometimes he looks vulnerable and beatable as hell.

I get the dislike for Flanagan but he does show at times that he can be really good. He looked amazing when he fought Magdaleno who's also a pretty good fighter and not some bum.

Lets not call Flanagan crap just yet.

Man the hopes were so high for Verdejo.

Crazy how not one Puerto Rican since Cotto has really put himself on the boxing map. Never Would of predicted that.

Horrible? He only lost the last three rounds.

If Verdejo dont dominate or beat Flanagan easy he should quit... Simple as that.

Feed him to the hounds? You're not talking about Flanagan are you? He's more of a toy poodle than a hound. He is easily the weakest of all the lightweight world title holders. He is not a real champion and is a contender at best. He is the Billy Joe Saunders/Nathan Cleverly/Lee Haskins of LW title holders, a title holder without legitimate true champion status.
I agree that Verdejo hasn't looked great lately but either has Flanagan. I think it's a good match up that should show if Verdejo has what it takes to be a legit LW contender as well as if Flanagan even deserves to be called a world title holder.
Forget about champion status, neither will have proven that unless they win this proposed upcoming match and go on to challenge and beat one of the other, more legit title holders at LW.

Since P.R. boxing is basically dead, I'm gonna root for Verdejo. He is their last hope. Let's go, Verdejo!
