Did he say he wasn't ready before or after he was allowed a voluntary to get acclimated to 160, and chose KHAN instead? ok dunce, let me dumb it down to where even YOU can understand it:

When Canelo won the WBC middleweight title, he lost the right to play the "ohhhhh im too little and need to acclimate to the weight" card. He was the lineal middleweight champion, and had an obligation to defend that against another credible middleweight. He chose not to.

Now had he just stayed at 154, he could have ran his mouth all he wanted, no harm done. But once he held that middleweight title up in the air, well that changed things.
