Yeah Face Off with Max Kellerman definitely promotes a fight better than just a standard interview.

SMH, I understand the animosity they have towards each other but they are both only hurting themselves.

I guess they like selling only 160,000 PPV's

They can make more money this time if the fight is advertised and promoted enough.

They are shooting themselves in the foot at this point.
The most unbiased post in the thread. Well said

So the hypocrites from the other thread criticizing Ward for not showing up are now defending Kovalev for not showing up. Just another predictable day on NSB.

My attitude, is **** this TMZ ****, and all this ****** promotional BS and talk about the actual fight.

This fight will only do 150K give or take regardless. The only people that watch the face-offs and pre-fight pressers is us.

Seems Ward has decided not to help the promotion except whatever Roc Nation wants to do. Tells me that Ward's purse is less driven by the PPV sales than Kov's.

Silly move IMO. I would think Roc wants to maximize sales and attendance.

Alvarez-Chavez Jr likely had 1m paying PPV homes; HBO's boxing schedule, in advance of Ward-Kovalev II, has all of one boxing date on the docket (with HBO's boxing viewership being lower for the year).

Not to be a jerk, but a tense interviewed face-off between two fighters who don't like each other all that much, in front of a paying audience that's likely to be massive, will go a heck of a long way to selling 500k PPV buys for Ward-Kovalev II than another Face-Off (which has it's own value, tbf).

Kovalev/Main Events are the B-side ad should acknowledge such in the promotion.

This post is odd seeing that you didn't care about the actual underlying facts either. If you find fault with Ward, fine. Just say that. You seemed to purposely misrepresent this was something he just made up to try and discredit it.

Confusing but I honestly don't GIVE A *** about no Face Off or any of that look forward to the fight and hopefully it is no excuses or controversy at the end of this one

Respectfully, I disagree because (in hindsight) anything they would've done at the fight would've been forgotten given the GGG/Canelo announcement and pomp at the end and because Face off is available on demand and is repeated on cable.

Either way, IMO an opportunity to promote was missed. I am all for gamesmanship but this feels like ****** politics between the 2 promotional companies that IMO will only hurt sales.

Roc Nation said they have a marketing plan but they are still neophytes and I don't know how successful it will be. HBO has a plan to promote but Ward doesn't seem to interested to help them out most likely because he didn't get a new deal (that I am aware of).

Frankly, they should be doing everything they can to help sales increase.
