Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr: Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin is a 50-50 Fight

It was one-war traffic when Saul "Canelo" Alvarez dominated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and come September, he'll get a chance to become the middleweight champion again. There was no doubt with the judges, who gave every single round to Canelo. After the fight was over, Gennady Golovkin entered the ring and their long awaited clash was officially announced for September 16.

That's why is so intriguing. The closer they are to 50-50 the more demand it has. Thurman vs Garcia, Thurman vs Porter, Brook vs Spence.

Agreed, people putting way to much on the power emphasis!

What happens if GGG drops Canelo but doesn't finish him?

What happens once Canelo adjusts to the power he starts to counter him more and more?

GGG seems like the type that if he feels he can take it, he's fine till he gets clipped with a counter he doesn't see coming!

I think Canelo is underestimated here a lot, he will be prepared and he's a very sharp fighter!

I think he's going to surprise lots of people including Dela Hoya!

More like 5-1 for Golovkin. A Lemieux/Canelo fight would be 50-50. Chavez jr. was a zombie punching bag, which is why canelita/gbp cherry picked him. Golovkin would have toyed with and then bashed out Jr in 2-3 rounds and then been ridiculed for fighting garbage. All these little guy fights are a bore anyway.

This fight might end up being a 2-3 fight affair like ggg coach Sanchez said

After watching Lemieux last night there is no way he's 50/50 with Canelo.
