Chavez Jr was outclassed by Brian Vera

I don't know why people are so surprised by how last night played out, Chavez Jr is a C level fighter, always has been. We've seen him outboxed numerous times, Brian Vera out-fought and out-thought Chavez, so why are people so surprised by Canelo doing it? In fact, the guy Lemieux beat last night had a very close fight with Chavez a couple years ago.

Chavez Jr wasn't throwing any punches because Canelo is a very sharp, accurate counter puncher with good power, you don't wanna be taking too many flush shots from him. He's average enough as it is, so when you start taking big shots and become even more hesitant, against a stronger, more skilled guy, there's not much you can do other than look to survive.

So all this talk of the fight being a fix or Chavez Jr being drained is nonsense. He's just not good.

Who on here is actually surprised the fight went the way it did last night? I don't think I've seen many who jokes aside genuinely gave Chavez a chance.

The only thing that surprised me about Jr. was he made weight then actually lasted 12 rounds getting beaten up.

Even if they fought at like 168 and Jr. actually had more in the tank Canelo still outboxes him because he would still be better at boxing and faster not just physically but of thought in the ring.

Chavez has his father's name and his chin. De la Hoya used that to sell us this bogus match last night. The only surprising thing about the match was that Junior made the weight.
